UTILITY HISTORYJustin water: Upper Trinity's regional plant
The City of Justin buys all of its drinking water from the Upper Trinity Regional Water District's regional water treatment plant. That plant treats surface water from Lewisville Lake and Lake Chapman. Upper Trinity was created by the State of Texas in 1989 to provide wholesale water and wastewater service in the Denton County area, and it was organized by the cities and utilities it serves. Lewisville Lake's dam was completed in 1955, and Lake Chapman, also known as Cooper Lake, was dedicated in 1991 after a dam built from 1987 to 1991.
