UTILITY HISTORY

Keller water: Eagle Mountain Lake by way of Fort Worth

Keller is one of Fort Worth's drinking water wholesale customers. A 2025 Community Impact report on new federal rules named Eagle Mountain Lake as the primary source for Keller, and Keller's public works director noted that Fort Worth's system is interconnected so other sources can fill in. Eagle Mountain's dam on the West Fork of the Trinity was completed on October 24, 1932, and the lake began filling in February 1934. It belongs to the Tarrant Regional Water District, which Tarrant County voters created in 1924.
