UTILITY HISTORY

Kennedale water: city wells and two big neighbors

Kennedale still pumps groundwater. Its 2025 report says four city wells draw from the Trinity Aquifer, in the Twin Mountains, Travis Peak and Paluxy formations. The city also buys treated surface water from Fort Worth and Arlington, whose supplies come from Lake Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain Lake, Lake Worth, Benbrook Lake, Cedar Creek Reservoir and Richland-Chambers Reservoir. Since April 2019, Arlington Water Utilities has operated and maintained Kennedale's water system for the city.
