UTILITY HISTORY

Mustang SUD: wells and lake water for Oak Point

Mustang Special Utility District was organized on October 1, 2002, by converting the Mustang Water Supply Corporation into a district, and it has since absorbed the former Marilee Special Utility District. Its 2025 water report includes water-quality test sites on Spinnaker Run in Oak Point. Mustang's supply mixes groundwater and lake water. Its own wells tap the Trinity and Woodbine aquifers in Collin, Denton and Grayson counties; it buys treated surface water from Upper Trinity's regional plant, which draws on Jim Chapman and Lewisville lakes; and it buys groundwater from the City of Sherman. Upper Trinity itself was created in 1989.

04 / THE SOURCE MATTERS

A clear paper trail.

Research checked October 31, 2026. This date is not a sample date. Original reports are unchanged.

Most of Oak Point is served by Mustang SUD, whose results these are. Wellington Trace, Gates of Waters Edge and the area east of Yacht Club Road are served by Undine Texas (Hilltown Addition, TX0610112), which uses well water. EWG is the primary source for this city record. Each result retains its data period and source; supplying-utility results are identified separately. Municipal report results supplement topics where no EWG result is available.
