UTILITY HISTORYCity of River Oaks: a 1950s system on Fort Worth water
River Oaks completed its water and sewer systems in the 1950s, the same decade it paved its streets and built a library. The city still keeps its own water system, but its 2025 report says it purchased water from Fort Worth from January through December 2025 through an emergency interconnection. The report adds that when the city's own system is online, it buys raw water from the Tarrant Regional Water District. That district was established in 1924 and supplies Fort Worth from lakes it owns, including Eagle Mountain Lake, completed in 1932.
