UTILITY HISTORY

White Settlement water: city wells plus Fort Worth

White Settlement draws on two supplies. It pumps groundwater from four wells inside the city limits, tapping the Paluxy and Trinity aquifers, and it buys treated surface water from the City of Fort Worth. Fort Worth's sources include Lake Worth, Eagle Mountain Lake, Lake Bridgeport, Richland-Chambers and Cedar Creek reservoirs, Benbrook Lake and the Clear Fork of the Trinity River, spread across Tarrant, Wise, Parker, Henderson and Kaufman counties. Most of those reservoirs belong to the Tarrant Regional Water District, established in 1924 for flood control, whose role was widened to water supply in 1926.
