UTILITY HISTORYCross Timbers WSC: from Bartonville wells to lake water
Cross Timbers Water Supply Corporation began operating in 1965 as the Bartonville Water Supply Corporation, with 139 connections, and later took its present name to match its territory. It serves most of Bartonville, Double Oak and Copper Canyon. Wells were its first source, and four wells still pump from the Trinity and Paluxy aquifers. It also buys treated surface water, rated at 2.5 million gallons a day, from the Upper Trinity Regional Water District, created in 1989, which draws from Lewisville and Jim Chapman lakes. Interconnects with Argyle WSC and the Lantana water district add backup supply.
