UTILITY HISTORYDuncanville water: purchased from Dallas
Duncanville does not pump or treat raw water. All of its supply is surface water bought from the City of Dallas, and the city's system has kept a "Superior" water quality rating. Dallas treats water drawn from the Elm Fork of the Trinity River and lakes Grapevine, Lewisville, Ray Hubbard, Ray Roberts, Tawakoni and Fork. Grapevine Lake, finished by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1952, is one where Dallas owns part of the storage. In 2025 Duncanville reported finishing a citywide survey of water service line materials to meet federal lead and copper rules.
