UTILITY HISTORYEuless water: a tax fight, then wells and lakes
Water shaped Euless's government. The village incorporated in 1951, dissolved itself in 1952 in a dispute over water and sewer taxes, and incorporated again in 1953. Today the city mixes two kinds of supply. Surface water comes from the Trinity River Authority, drawn from Cedar Creek and Richland Chambers lakes, and groundwater comes from Euless's own wells in the Trinity Aquifer. Both lakes are Tarrant Regional Water District reservoirs: Cedar Creek was finished in 1965 and Richland-Chambers in 1987.
