UTILITY HISTORYFlower Mound water: two wholesale suppliers
Flower Mound buys all of its water already treated, from two suppliers: Dallas Water Utilities and the Upper Trinity Regional Water District. In 2025 the town bought about 5.58 billion gallons, and about 9.8 percent of that was counted as water loss from leaks and metering. All of the supply is lake and river water. Upper Trinity draws from Lewisville and Chapman lakes. That district was created when the governor signed its founding bill on June 6, 1989, after Denton County cities began talking with Dallas about future supply in 1986.
