UTILITY HISTORYGlenn Heights water: a Dallas customer
Glenn Heights buys treated surface water from the City of Dallas, and its annual report carries Dallas's own test results alongside the city's. The Dallas system it relies on has been city-run since 1881, when Dallas bought out a private water company. Dallas now draws from seven sources: the Elm Fork of the Trinity River and lakes Ray Roberts, Lewisville, Grapevine, Ray Hubbard, Tawakoni and Fork. Lake Ray Hubbard, east of Dallas, was built for the city between 1964 and 1969, the same year Glenn Heights incorporated.
