UTILITY HISTORY

Highland Village water: city wells plus Upper Trinity

Highland Village supplies part of its water from its own wells in the Trinity Aquifer and treats it with chloramines. The rest is surface water bought from the Upper Trinity Regional Water District, drawn from Lewisville Lake in Denton County. Upper Trinity was created by the State of Texas in 1989 as a conservation and reclamation district to sell water and wastewater service wholesale to Denton County cities. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has rated Highland Village a Superior Public Water Supply since 1996.
