UTILITY HISTORY

Krum water: Trinity Aquifer wells plus Upper Trinity

The City of Krum runs its own water system with two kinds of supply. Its water quality report says the city pumps groundwater from city wells in the Trinity Aquifer in Denton County, and it buys treated surface water from the Upper Trinity Regional Water District's regional treatment plant, which draws on Lewisville and Chapman lakes. Upper Trinity was created by the State of Texas in 1989 to serve Denton County cities and utilities on a wholesale basis. Lake Chapman, also called Cooper Lake, was dedicated in 1991.
