UTILITY HISTORY

Lantana water: two districts buying from Upper Trinity

Lantana's water service is run by Denton County Fresh Water Supply Districts No. 6 and No. 7, created in May 2000. Each district has an elected board that acts much like a city council and meets monthly at the district office in Bartonville. The districts buy wholesale water from the Upper Trinity Regional Water District, which uses surface water from Lewisville Lake and Lake Chapman. Upper Trinity was created by the State of Texas in 1989 to serve the Denton County area on a wholesale basis.
