UTILITY HISTORY

Northlake water: Fort Worth lakes and Lewisville Lake

Northlake's water service is split by area. The southern part of town gets surface water from the City of Fort Worth, whose sources include Lake Worth, Eagle Mountain Lake, Richland-Chambers Reservoir, Cedar Creek Reservoir, the Clear Fork and the Trinity River. Eagle Mountain Lake was completed in 1932 by the district now called the Tarrant Regional Water District. Upper Trinity Regional Water District serves the subdivisions on the north side with water from Lewisville Lake. Upper Trinity came into being on June 6, 1989, when the governor signed the bill creating it, and it added wastewater service in 1999.
