UTILITY HISTORY

Mustang SUD: from contract operator to owner

For years the Paloma Creek districts owned the water and sewer system while Mustang Special Utility District operated it and sent the bills. A notice dated March 30, 2026, told residents that all of the districts' water and wastewater assets had been transferred to Mustang, now their retail provider. The districts kept trash and police services, and Mustang is phasing in its standard rates over three years. Mustang itself was organized in 2002 from the Mustang Water Supply Corporation. Its supply blends Trinity and Woodbine aquifer well water with treated surface water from Upper Trinity's regional plant, drawn from Jim Chapman and Lewisville lakes.
