UTILITY HISTORYMustang SUD: from district water to Mustang's own
Paloma Creek's water and sewer systems were owned by five Denton County Fresh Water Supply Districts: 8-A, 8-B, 11-A, 11-B and 11-C. Mustang Special Utility District ran them and sent the bills, and in 2026, under a long-standing agreement, the districts transferred the systems to Mustang, which is phasing in its own rates over three years. Mustang began as Mustang Water Supply Corporation, incorporated on May 13, 1966. Today it blends well water from the Trinity and Woodbine aquifers with treated lake water bought from Upper Trinity, which comes from Jim Chapman and Lewisville lakes.
