UTILITY HISTORYSeagoville water: artesian wells, then Dallas lakes
Seagoville drilled an artesian well in 1912, two years after the post office took its current name, and by 1948 the town had a second artesian well. Today the city's 2025 water quality report lists four sources: the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, Lake Ray Hubbard, Lake Tawakoni and Bachman Lake. It relies on the City of Dallas's assessment of that source water and prints Dallas's test results beside its own. Dallas's water system dates to 1881, when the city bought a private water company, and the city archives list Bachman Lake, dated 1903, first among its surface sources.
