UTILITY HISTORY

Trophy Club MUD 1: a district older than the town

Trophy Club's water district came a decade before the town. Municipal Utility District No. 1 was formally established on April 24, 1975, followed by MUD 2 and MUD 3 in 1980. MUDs 2 and 3 were combined in 1990, and in 2009 voters approved merging MUDs 1 and 2 into today's Trophy Club Municipal Utility District No. 1. The district buys roughly 80 percent of its water from the City of Fort Worth, which gets its raw water from the Tarrant Regional Water District. It blends that with water from four district wells: one Trinity well and three Paluxy wells.
