UTILITY HISTORYWatauga water: bought through North Richland Hills
Watauga does not draw raw water of its own. It buys its water from the City of North Richland Hills, which supplies surface water from sources tied to Fort Worth: Lake Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain Lake, Lake Worth, Lake Benbrook, Cedar Creek and Richland-Chambers reservoirs and the Clear Fork of the Trinity River. The Tarrant Regional Water District, established in 1924, owns four of those lakes and their water rights; it finished Bridgeport in 1931, Eagle Mountain in 1932, Cedar Creek in 1965 and Richland-Chambers in 1987. The report also lists the Trinity River Authority's Lake Arlington. The state has rated Watauga's system Superior since 1999.
