UTILITY HISTORY

Westover Hills water: Fort Worth lakes and a town well

Westover Hills lists two kinds of supply in its 2025 report. One is groundwater from a single town well near City Hall on Merrymount Road. The other is treated surface water bought from the City of Fort Worth, drawn from Lake Worth, Eagle Mountain Lake, Lake Bridgeport and Richland-Chambers Reservoir. Three of those four were built by the Tarrant Regional Water District, which was established in 1924 after a destructive 1922 flood: Bridgeport was finished in 1931, Eagle Mountain in 1932 and Richland-Chambers in 1987. Lake Worth belongs to the City of Fort Worth.
